Choosing the Right Childrens Charity Organisation to Sponsor

With dozens of worthwhile childrens charities in New Zealand, it can be difficult to choose which one is right for you.

Actually making the commitment to donate to starving children or abused children, or those in need of medical treatment is the most important factor in all of this. Which kids charity organisation you decide to sponsor is the easy part.

You often hear of celebrities throwing a stack of money at charity organizations but it's important to realize that you don't need to be well off to make a donation. It only takes a small contribution to make a big difference to children in need around the world and change their lives forever.

Quite often, people will sponsor children based on what they are most passionate about. It may be a question of asking yourself, which situations in the world bother or matter to you the most? A lot of people choose to donate to kids charity organisations that relate to the pasts or experiences of their own or those that are close to them. It may be that you were homeless for a period in your life or you were struggling to put food on the plate at night. Perhaps you know of a child that had a crippling accident or was born with deformities.

If you are looking for a children's charity organisation to sponsor, then it will pay to do your research. You can easily jump online and check out different NZ kids charity sites and see what they're supporting, their goals and their values. For many people, it is establishing trust in a charity organisation, knowing that your donations are being directed to the areas of need that you have decided to support. Be sure to choose an organisation that promises communication following any donations received.

There is nothing like the personal satisfaction and connection achieved through donating to children in need. All children deserve to have their health and it is through the help of charity organisations and people like yourself who donate, that allows them to have this.

    Hi Aaron

I want to choose a charity where I am going to be the most helpful.

Ruel Foundation is an incredible charity with a heart to love. For me being able to go to the Philippines and be on the front lines of that love was the most incredible thing (even if only for a couple of weeks).

So that would be my advice, choose a charity that doesn't just want your money, just wants you to be involved -hands and feet!
