How the child came to Ruel: Grace and Jems was referred by a child caring agency in Silang, Cavite. The children’s mother left the kids to the care of their neighbors who has no means of supporting 2 more kids aside from their own children. Prior to abandonment of the children, they were often neglected by the mother, locking them up and leaving them to their house with no food or drink.
Short Family History: The mother abandoned the kids 1 month prior to admission at Ruel foundation. The father is presently jailed at Tagaytay City Jail for violation of Republic Act 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and Children. He was beating up the children’s mother and the children whenever he was drunk. He is in jail for 1 year now.
Personality, likes, dislikes, etc: Grace is a happy child with a ready to smile to greet people she meets. Jems has angelic face and likes to play alone. He is cooperating or sometimes playing with other children
Medical or physical challenges: Grace’s muttering is often incomprehensible, sometimes using signs or gestures to communicate. Jems is severely malnourished. He weighed 7.3 kilograms on admission.
